Welp, as of today, it’s officially been 10 years since I’ve joined DeviantArt.
When I realized I was already having a lot of fun on Fanfiction.net, meeting new and really talented and kind people who share your similar interests, and due to the fact that my urge to draw again like I used to was coming back, I knew I had to join DeviantArt at some point to share my own personal artwork and to meet other talented artists whom I’ve admired from afar back in 2008 like cappy-code who is now one of my closest friends ever.
My immense love for Pucca and Ice Age at the time were some of the main causes of me returning to that hobby, mainly because of all the cute and amazing Pucca art I found on DeviantArt, particularly Cappy’s art along with her anti OC’s, and due to the lack of fanart Scratte was getting which to be fair, back in early 2009, was understandable as the movie wasn’t out yet, but since I was already so excited over Ice Age 3 because of her, I already started drawing some early fanart of her and Scrat together as humans since I didn’t know how to draw them as squirrels just yet. I spent most of my time drawing fanart of them and Pucca all the while drawing practically everything in the Pucca style at the time, and once I finally joined DeviantArt, that’s when I was able to start uploading it.
And even before I joined DeviantArt, when I joined Fanfiction in June 2009, pretty much all of my fanfiction was only Ice Age and Pucca, so you can really see how much they’ve influenced me in the most positive way possible. And while I’m still not the best artist out there since there’s still so very much for me to learn when it comes to drawing, I can still definitely say that I think I’ve really come a long way since then and have still gotten much better at drawing for the most part.
It was just really exciting joining a website completely dedicated to posting your own personal artwork, and leaving it all open for everyone to see, fave, and comment on. Because of this, I met some more really talented and kind people whom I shared similar interests with and made me happy to realize that there were a lot more people who shared many things in common with me than I thought. I met some of my closest friends ever thanks to that site and I’ll always be extremely grateful for it. And seeing new art from the people I follow on that site is always an absolute treat too.
And while DeviantArt’s future isn’t looking too bright in terms of the development plans for Eclipse, here’s to hoping for another good long 10 years of me continuing to draw what I love and hopefully getting better at it. And who knows? Maybe in honor of this anniversary, I’ll remake one of my first submissions on DeviantArt to show how far I’ve come since then. Thank you, DeviantArt, for bringing me so much joy over the years and for introducing me to so many amazing and talented people. And thank you, Cappy, Pucca, Ice Age, and many more, for getting me back into drawing since then. ♥

Again, even though motivation and inspiration for writing fanfiction doesn’t come to me as often as drawing, feel free to follow me there for whenever I actually DO write fanfiction same as on Fanfiction.net.
Already posted three stories there and I must say I LOVE all the options the site gives you before posting. Much better than Fanfiction.net for sure.
And on that note, yes, as you can see I don't really post Journals anymore, and I WOULD post this in a status update but I don't like the way it takes up space on my main page so I'll just be promoting myself via Journal here, lol. Sure would love it if DeviantArt let me put the Status widget in the Journal section too.
